| Summary | 0000569: Reported Posts: add note to the post | ||||
| Description | Reported Posts: - add an Admin setting that allows text along the lines of 'post has been reported' to the actual post or add a new post to the topic/thread [that can be removed later] so that members can see it's already been reported and so hopefully multiple members don't report the same post. | ||||

Old issue but this should probably also be viewable to moderators too in some form. Unfortunately I can't think of a place where it would be displayed for mods. |

Hey flushedpancake! My proposed workflow is: - member reports a post - u2u is sent to (moderators/admins via an optin option) - u2u is sent to the author of the problematic post - this gives them the opportunity to rectify the issue (and learn) while also allowing a quicker fix than waiting for a mod/admin - a new forum area is created where all reported posts are also listed - ideally, perhaps a new table is also created which has a relationship with the original bug fix description and when the reported post is fixed, the post on the members thread is removed |

Sounds good to me. I pretty much thought the same thing, albeit with a public moderator log that staffers can attach notes to to clarify things (in combination with the existing moderator log feature which should be expanded to allow mod notes), rather than a new forum that automatically logs things. (Also U2Us would be nicer if they were more like private forum threads rather than e-mails - they could have multiple participants that way.) Seems like both of us have been looking into how to comply with recent legislation and have come to a very similar conclusion. |
