Summary0000128: Thumbnails for Hotlinked Images
DescriptionThis feature would optionally cause the server to retrieve the image files for all [img] BBCodes and convert them into attachments. This has the advantage of enabling thumbnails, size restrictions, link validation, and preservation.

 This feature was almost scrapped as I feared it would require too much work for too little achievement. But as my finger hovered over the "wontfix" option, I discovered the PHP function tempnam(), which was a big piece of the puzzle.
